SAN ANGELO – The Angelo State men's basketball program kicks off the announcement of their incoming signing class for the 2025-26 season with the addition of Davon Scott into the Rams Basketball program, head coach Vinay Patel announced this afternoon.

Scott, a product of Douglass HS in Oklahoma City, was a top-ten prospect in Oklahoma, according to Prep Hoops, and led the Trojans to a pair of state championships.

"We are thrilled to announce the signing of Davon to our program. Davon was one of the top high school players in the state of Oklahoma and comes from a tradition-rich program," said Patel. "He has learned the importance of being a complete player on both the offensive and defensive end at Douglass, and has the skill set to step in and immediately help our program."

As a senior at Douglass HS, Scott averaged 21.2 points and four rebounds per game en route to being named the ACAC Offensive Player of the Year. He was also named to the 4A All-State Tournament First Team, the Super 5 Third Team, the Tulsa World All-State Top 15, and the Oklahoma Basketball Coaches Association All-State team.

"Our staff enjoyed getting to know Davon and his family throughout the recruiting process," said Patel. "There is no doubt that Ram fans will love getting to know them and watching him play!"

Scott was named the ACAC Offensive Player of the Year in 2023-24 as he led the Trojans to a state championship. He was named the 4A State MVP by the Daily Oklahoman and Tulsa World, and was featured on the Little All-City First Team and Super 5 Second Team.

In 2022-23, Scott was a 4A All-State Tournament honorable mention and ACAC All-Conference Second Team selection as he helped Douglass HS to a state championship.

"Davon is a proven winner! He can score the basketball at three levels, but he separates himself from others with his ability to shoot from the perimeter," said Patel. "We believe Davon's best basketball is ahead of him, and we can't wait to get on the floor and coach him!"
