SAN ANGELO, Texas – The top-ranked Angelo State baseball team sits at No. 1 in the South Central Region, according to the latest regional rankings released Wednesday afternoon.

The Rams recently secured the Lone Star Conference Regular Season Championship after sweeping a doubleheader at Cameron on April 25. With the wins, the Blue and Gold locked up the No. 1 seed and a first-round bye in the LSC Tournament.

UT Tyler holds the second spot in the regional rankings, followed by Colorado Mesa, CSU Pueblo, Regis, and St. Edward's. Lubbock Christian and West Texas A&M remain just outside the current regional picture.

The Rams return to action on Thursday, May 8, when they host the Championship Round of the Lone Star Conference Tournament at Foster Field at 1st Community Credit Union Stadium.
