San Angelo, Texas - The Angelo State women's tennis team fell to No. 21 Lubbock Christian 5-2 inside of the ASU Tennis Complex Saturday afternoon. 

 

With the loss the Belles fall to 12-6 overall and 1-5 in conference action.

 

Anastasiia Opolska and Anamaria Zoric defeated Benedetta Raggiotti and Margaux Rene 6-1 at No. 2 doubles to win the first match for the Lady Chaps. Oshini Hearth and Mariia Koroleva defeated Jessica Li and Ivet Stancheva to claim the doubles point for the Lady Chaps. The No. 12 ranked doubles pairing of Avery Durham and Eva Schwartz defeated the No. 13th ranked pairing of Axelle Jacquemin and Andrea De Bernardo 7-5 to give momentum to the Rambelles heading into singles action.

 

Oshini Hearth defeated Mary-June Quinn in 6-2 in straight sets to give the Lady Chaps a 2-0 advantage. 

 

Maya Adaler defeated Avery Durham 6-0, 6-1 to give the Lady Chaps a 3-0 advantage.

 

Jessica Li would get the Rambelles on the score sheet as she would defeat Maria Koroleva 6-3, 6-1 to bring the overall score, 3-1.

 

Anamaria Zoric defeated Ivet Stancheva 6-4, 6-3 to clinch the victory for the Lady Chaps.

 

Margaux Rene would get back in the win column as she defeated Andrea De Bernardo 4-6, 6-3, 10-3 to bring the score to 4-2 in favor of the Lady Chaps. 

 

Anastasiia Opolska defeated Eva Schwartz 7-6, 6-4 to bring the final score to 5-2 in favor of the Lady Chaps. 

 

This is the first win for the Lady Chaps against ASU with ASU winning the previous two contest.

The Rambelles return to action tomorrow when they take on UTPB with first serve scheduled for 1 p.m.
