SAN ANGELO, Texas (Concho Valley Homepage) — Hungry mouths of San Angelo, rejoice — the "Lord's chicken" is returning to Sherwood Way following a month-long store closure.

The Chick-fil-A on Sherwood Way has been closed since Feb. 16, with no announced reopening date, for what it claimed was a "store refresh." During this time, the location's regular operations were shut down while it underwent several renovations.

There's a light at the end of the tunnel, however, as the location officially announced on its Facebook page that it would be resuming its normal activities.

"We’re back…" the store said in the announcement.

The Chick-fil-A is set to reopen on Tuesday, March 26, at 11 a.m. While it's expected to be business as usual, the restaurant staff asks the public to be patient with them while they get accustomed to their new environment.

"While we are looking forward to be back and serving YOU San Angelo, we do ask that you please be patient with our team this week as we navigate our new layout and get back into our Second Mile Service," the store said. "We’re so happy to serve your Chick-fil-A favorites again!"

During the time the location was closed, San Angelo's fast-food restaurants stayed busy. A new Whataburger opened on the same stretch of road as the Sherwood Way Chick-fil-A, and the Whataburger on Knickerbocker Road closed and reopened after undergoing a store refresh of its own.

San Angelo was also recently teased with the possibility of another Chick-fil-A sometime in the future after the City of San Angelo’s February 2024 permits and inspections report revealed that a permit was pending for a new building located at 2210 N. Bryant Blvd.
