ARLINGTON, Texas - With the Lone Star Conference Tournament set to start tomorrow, the conference announced their all-conference and all-academic award winners at the annual women's tennis banquet this evening.

 

The highlight of the awards for the Rambelles was Eva Schwartz being named the LSC Academic Player of the Year. The L'isle-Sur-La-Sorgue, France native is a graduate student that has already earned her bachelor's degree in international business and is currently pursuing her Master's degree in Business Administration.

 

This is the third time a Belle has been named the LSC Academic Player of Year; Schwartz joins former Belles Zoe Gubbels (2021) and Ena Ovcina (2022).

 

Additionally, Schwartz was named to the First Team Doubles along with her partner Avery Durham. The pairing went 14-4 and won their last six matchups to close out their collegiate careers. Durham and Schwartz earned their highest ranking this season when they were No. 6 to begin the season. Durham and Schwartz ended the season as No. 13 ranked pairing in the nation.  Durham would be named to the Sportsmanship Team.

 

Freshman Margaux Rene a native of Soisy-Sur-Siene, France was recognized as the Freshman of the Year and to the honorable mention singles team. Rene finished the year with 17-5 record playing Flight 1-3 for the Rambelles. Rene played the final four matches from line one winning in decisive fashion in all four contests. Rene defeated four ranked opponents with her biggest win coming against Southern Arkansas on March 1st where she defeated No. 3 Amelie Gindl 6-2, 3-6, 6-3. Rene ended her freshman campaign as the No. 42 ranked singles player in the nation.
