TEMPE, Ariz. — The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) released its Division II rankings. The Angelo State women's tennis team is now ranked 18th in the national rankings, down from 13th.
After starting her collegiate career 9-1, Margaux Rene is ranked 27th in this week's singles rankings. Rene defeated Jenna Bohnert the 75th ranked singles player, 6-0, 6-2, to move to 9-1 heading into the spring break trip, where the Belles take on No. 6 Flagler and No. 7 Nebraska - Kearney next week. Rene has also defeated the No. 7th ranked player in the nation, Amelie Gindl, for her first ranked win of her career.
The pairing of Avery Durham and Eva Schwartz is currently ranked 8th in the double's rankings. After making it to the final of the ITA doubles cup and starting the season 6-1 and 17-9 overall as a team in doubles play.
