Indianapolis, Ind. – The Angelo State softball team earned its 19th NCAA Tournament berth this morning with the release of the NCAA Tournament field; the Rambelles will be the third-seed in the South Central region as they return to Canyon to continue their postseason schedule.
This is the Rambelles' highest seed in the South Central region since the 2021 tournament, where they were also ranked third regionally.
The Rambelles finished behind No. 1 UT Tyler and No. 3 West Texas A&M in the region, with the two teams serving as hosts.
The Rambelles will open the tournament on Thursday against Colorado Mesa, the sixth seed in the region.
The Lady Buffs, the two-seed, take on Lubbock Christian in the opening round.
UT Tyler's regional features the top-ranked Patriots, No. 20 Oklahoma Christian, Colorado Christian, and MSU Denver.
The winner of each regional will meet in the Super Regionals, scheduled for May 15-17 at the highest seed remaining.
The Rambelles are 44-12 this season and went 34-10 in LSC play.
