SAN ANGELO - The Angelo State softball team closes out the regular season this weekend at Mayer Softball Field when they host Midwestern State and top-ranked West Texas A&M. Friday's doubleheader against the Mustangs will serve as the Rambelles' senior day, where they will honor their ten seniors ahead of their final home weekend.
LAST TIME OUT
The Rambelles extended their winning streak to ten with sweeps of Eastern and Western New Mexico. The Rambelles scored double-digit runs in all four games, capping the weekend with a season-high 18 runs against WNMU.
RAMBELLES RANKED NO. 7
The Rambelles are ranked seventh in the latest version of the NFCA Division II Top 25 Coaches Poll, marking their fifth consecutive week in the seventh spot. The Rambelles are in the nation's top ten for the first time since the 2022 season and were in the top five for the first time since the beginning of the 2021 season.
WATERS NAMED LSC FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
Bri Waters was named the LSC Freshman of the Week for her play in the Land of Enchantment last week. Waters recorded four hits in five at-bats, hitting two home runs and driving in four. She slugged 2.00 for the week to claim the Rambelles' seventh weekly honor this season.
RAMBELLES IN REGIONAL RANKINGS
The Rambelles were among the ten teams listed under consideration for the NCAA South Central regional rankings, released last Wednesday. The field will be announced on Monday, May 5th at 9 a.m. Central time on ncaa.com.
FLOYD RECORDS
Senior pitcher Cheyenne Floyd continues to put her name all over the career record book at Angelo State. The senior is second in program history in career ERA (2.00) and is first in opponent batting average (.200). Her 434 strikeouts for the Blue and Gold are the second most, and her 50 wins are the eighth most.
SCOTT PASSES 1K CAREER WINS
Head coach Travis Scott won his 1,000th career game on Friday, March 28th, against UT Permian Basin. He is the first coach to win all 1,000 games in the Lone Star Conference. He won his first 101 games at Southeastern Oklahoma before winning the following 912 games at the helm of the Rambelles softball program.

- Cheyenne Floyd is 22-5 with two saves and a 1.74 ERA; she has 153 strikeouts in 136.2 innings. Opponents are hitting .173 against Floyd this season.
