SERIES HISTORY:

All-Time Series: ASU leads the series 30-3

Last Meeting: May 4, 2024: ASU, 9-2 – San Angelo, Texas (Lone Star Conference Championship – First Round)

The Rams hold a commanding series lead over the Dustdevils as the Blue and Gold average almost nine runs a game. However, TAMIU have found a little success, winning one game in the regular series in each of the last two seasons.

LAST TIME OUT:

The Rams return to the diamond following a weekend bye. Prior to that, the Blue and Gold secured a doubleheader sweep against Wayland Baptist back on Mar. 11. Between both contests, the Rams utilized 22 hits, 18 walks and eight hit-by-pitches to outscore the Pioneers 31-13. In game two, the Blue and Gold stole eight bases as Austin Beck and Chase Pendley each hit a home run.

SCOUTING TEXAS A&M INTERNATIONAL:

Texas A&M International enter the weekend with a 11-19 record and coming off a series against Lubbock Christian at home where the Dustdevils stole game one before falling the last three games to drop the series to the Chaps at home.

TAMIU ranked towards the bottom of the conference .284 batting average. Despite this, the Dustdevils sport six hitters who are hitting above a .300 batting average. Highlighting the aforementioned hitters is Alex Lugo, who is hitting a team-high .376 in 28 games played followed by Joseph Rodriguez who is hitting .354 and leads the team in doubles (9) and triples (3).

On the mound, TAMIU have used 18 different pitchers to navigate the 30 games they have played thus far to amount to a 8.82 ERA which is ninth in the LSC. The doubleheader tandem of Lalo Salinas and Mario Garcia highlights the pitching staff as Salinas holds the team best ERA of 6.69 while Garcia leads the program in strikeouts this season with 31 and limits hitters to a .268 average.
