SAN ANGELO, TX. — The 11th-ranked Angelo State baseball team got back into the win column Wednesday afternoon, knocking off Wayland Baptist 14-2 in a non-conference tilt and moving to 23-11 overall this season.
The Rams jumped out to an early 4-0 lead in the first inning highlighted by a RBI triple by Ryder McDaniel and RBI double by Rance Rosas.
Clark would pick up his second RBI of the day in the second with another sacrifice fly scoring Kannon Brooks, before Brooks would double to right scoring Rosas and Jaxon Weatherly to make it 7-0 after three innings.
On the mound, Luke Spencer would get the start Wednesday afternoon for the Rams going three innings, and allowing just one hit while striking out six to pick up his second victory of the season.
The Rams offense would score in all but one inning as the bats remained red hot and four pitchers combined to strikeout 10, allowing just six hits and two runs in the victory.
Angelo State is off this weekend and returns to Lone Star Conference action next Friday when they travel to Laredo to face Texas A&M International.
