Central Texas (FOX 44) - Early voting is set to begin Monday and some big changes are in the hands of Central-Texas voters. This includes mayoral elections and numerous school and city bonds up for approval.
Waco Mayor Dillon Meek announced in September he would not run for re-election.
"I really look forward to getting back into the private sector. I don't think there's anybody more excited than Lindsay about that. But who knows, maybe when she sees a lot of time on my hands, she'll be like, sign me up for something," he says.
There are three people looking to replace Meek--Jim Holmes, Aubrey Robertson, and Eric Brown. Killeen Mayor – Debbie Nash-King is running for re-election, but she faces three challengers: Richard Briggs, Mellisa Brown, and Patsy Bracey.
On the ballot in Belton is 'Proposition A'-- asking voters if they are for or against the legal sale of all-alcoholic beverages, including mixed beverages.
The alcohol sales currently allowed in Belton are the sale of malt beverages and wine for off-premise consumption and the sale of mixed beverages in restaurants by "Food and beverage" certificate holders only.
There are also numerous school and city bonds up for voter approval. They total more than 420 million dollars across central Texas.
