SAN ANGELO, Texas (Concho Valley Homepage) — The San Angelo Chamber of Commerce Young Professionals has opened nominations for 2024's 20 Under 40 Awards, giving residents a chance to honor exceptional young professionals in the community.

According to the Chamber of Commerce, "the 20 Under 40 Award recognizes a new generation of influential professionals who exemplify occupational merit, servant leadership and exude remarkable personal qualities."

As its name suggests, the awards honor 20 professionals each year who are under the age of 40. Nominees can come from any line of work, but they must work in the Concho Valley and be under 40 years old as of June 6, 2024. When considering who to nominate, the Chamber of Commerce suggests to consider whether a professional has these traits:

• Success in their chosen field
• Significant contributors to the success of their company or employer
• Good examples of character, involvement and achievement, all consistent themes in their lives
• Committed to professional excellence and the community
• Involved in community activities
• Potential to impact the community’s future

Concho Valley locals can nominate professionals through online forms, which are then vetted by an anonymous selection committee to determine who will receive an award. Participants are selected based on a "blind point system," according to the Chamber of Commerce, meaning that "the more detailed your answer, the more likely the recipient will receive the maximum amount of points per section."

The deadline to submit nomination forms for the 2024 awards is June 6. Winners will be notified at the end of June.

"We encourage you to nominate an outstanding young professional that you believe deserves this prestigious recognition!" the Chamber of Commerce said.
