SAN ANGELO, Texas (Concho Valley Homepage) — The San Angelo Chamber of Commerce has announced that Walt Koenig, its president and CEO, is retiring.

Koenig's retirement is effective as of May 20 and comes after four years of serving as the head of the Chamber of Commerce.

“My wife MG and I will always treasure the time we spent at the Chamber serving the people of San Angelo," Koenig said. "We will certainly be frequent visitors!”

Koenig helped San Angelo earn several titles during his tenure as president, such as the Visual Arts Capitol of Texas, the 2024 Best Visitor Center in Texas and the 2024 People’s Choice Award for the Best Destination for Arts and Culture in the State of Texas.

A retirement reception to celebrate Koenig and his service will be held at the San Angelo Chamber of Commerce Visitor Center. A national search will be conducted to identify a new Chamber president.
