Description

SAN ANGELO, Texas (Concho Valley Homepage) — The Alcohol and Drug Awareness Center for the Concho Valley has announced the launch of a capital campaign designed to raise funds for the expansion of its Journey Recovery Center.

According to the ADACCV website, the Journey Recovery Center is a "72-bed treatment and detox facility that provides comprehensive residential substance use treatment for adult men and women." This facility sports "detoxification services for up to 12 clients, 30 male treatment beds and 30 female treatment beds, including women with children placements."

However, the ADACCV is looking to expand the facility in order to meet a growing need it has identified in the community.

"This expansion project is poised to enhance our ability to serve our community and meet the growing needs of individuals seeking recovery from substance misuse," the ADACCV said.

The expansion project includes the following facility enhancements, according to the ADACCV:

  • Expansion of Intake and Placement Area: Addition of a larger intake and processing area for new clients (including separate spaces for males and females) and a processing office for the intake team. The intake area will be equipped with restrooms, showers and a laundry room to ensure a sanitary intake process. In addition, a storage facility will also be added for clients' belongings.
  • Kitchen Expansion: Enlargement of the kitchen area with a larger pantry and office for the kitchen supervisor. Restrooms for food service team members will also be included. A wall and secure entryway will be constructed to separate the kitchen from the dining room, allowing for the dining room to be repurposed as a functional group meeting room.
  • Additional Group Rooms: Addition of multiple group rooms to accommodate more effective client education, treatment and process groups. Six offices will also be added to accommodate additional staff and community resource partners.

The ADACCV has launched a capital campaign to help fund the Journey Recovery Center's expansion as well as upgrades to the Cotton Lindsey Center. It is currently accepting donations from individuals, businesses and community partners.
