Description

SAN ANGELO, Texas (Concho Valley Homepage) —Concho Valley veterans will now have a resource for safe, accessible housing.

The Concho Valley Community Action Agency has been awarded two grants through the Texas Veterans Commission to improve living conditions for veterans in the region.

The first grant, general assistance renewal, will continue to help stabilize families and enhance the quality of life for veterans. The second grant, dedicated to ADA accessibility and safety modifications, aims to make homes safer and more accessible for low-income veterans and those with disabilities.

Modifications might include wheeler ramps, bathroom adjustments, and critical repairs to prevent weather-related damage.

"We are incredibly grateful to the Texas Veterans Commission for their generous support," said Mike Burnett, Executive Director of CVCAA. " These grants will make a significant impact in the lives of our local veterans, helping them to overcome challenges and improve their living conditions."

Both programs assist low-income veterans of all discharge statuses and lengths of service. Veterans interested in these programs must complete a CVCAA application and submit verification of U.S. military service, proof of income, IDs, and other documentation.

For more information about the Concho Valley Community Action Agency and its services available to veterans, please visit www.cvcaa.org or contact Sidney Timmer, Outreach and Marketing Director, at (325) 999-0656 or email [email protected].
