SAN ANGELO, Texas (Concho Valley Homepage) — The San Angelo Police Department held a press conference during the evening of Oct. 1 to provide information regarding a fatal shooting that occurred on David Street and a separate stabbing involving a juvenile that happened at a McDonald's on North Bryant Boulevard. Here's what was discussed.
David Street Shooting
According to SAPD Assistant Chief Craig Thomason, patrol units were dispatched to the 1500 block of South David Street at 8 a.m. on Oct. 1. Arriving at the scene, the officers located a male victim with multiple gunshot wounds.
The victim was transported to the Shannon Medical Center Emergency Room by the San Angelo Fire Department. The man would succumb to his injuries while there.
The incident is currently the subject of an ongoing investigation, with Thomason stating that no more information could be released as of the time of publication.
The SAPD asks any individuals with information regarding the homicide to contact Detective Russell at (325)-659-8012.
Stabbing at McDonald's
Thomason then stated that at approximately 1 p.m. on Oct. 1, patrol units were dispatched to the McDonald's located at 520 N. Bryant Blvd. in reference to stabbing victims.
Thomason said that "at this time, it appears a fight amongst young adults and juveniles resulted in a suspect stabbing two individuals."
Two victims, a 17-year-old victim and a 16-year-old victim, were transported to the Shannon Medical Center Emergency Room by the San Angelo Fire Department. As of the time of publication, the adult victim is considered to be in serious condition, while the juvenile is considered to be in a stable condition.
A 16-year-old suspect was taken into custody without incident in relation to the stabbing at around 3:30 p.m.
The SAPD asks any individuals with information regarding the stabbing to contact Detective Barker at (325)-657-4473.
Addressing Both Incidents
Thomason said that "there is no evidence supporting any danger to the public" in regard to both investigations, adding that there is "zero evidence" that has led law enforcement to believe that the two investigations are related to one another.
The SAPD took no questions from members of the press at the conference in reference to either investigation "due to both of these investigations being very active and fluid." However, Thomason stated that press releases will be issued "if any pertinent information arises."
Anonymous reports can be sent to Concho Valley Crime Stoppers at (325)-658-4357.
