SAN ANGELO, Texas (Concho Valley Homepage) — A San Angelo man has taken a plea deal regarding three counts of sexual assault of a child.

According to court records filed within Tom Green County, 27-year-old Benjamin Flores Jr. pled guilty on Sept. 30 to the charges in exchange for 10 years under deferred adjudication.

A complaint and information record also filed within the county stated that on Jan. 24, 2022, a San Angelo Police Department officer completed a police report that alleged sexual assault of a child. Law enforcement spoke with a 16-year-old child and learned that on or about Jan. 20, 2022, Flores had intercourse with the child while at a residence on Porter Street.

Investigators spoke with Flores, who admitted to the act. He also stated that he knew the child was 16 years of age at the time of the incident.
