SAN ANGELO, Texas (Concho Valley Homepage) — The hunt for a man who broke into and stole from the Grape Creek Volunteer Fire Department's building is ramping up, and monetary rewards are now being offered for any information that leads to his arrest.

An announcement issued by the fire department during the late evening of May 14 stated that rewards are now being issued for information by Concho Valley Crime Stoppers Inc., an information-gathering organization that works alongside the City of San Angelo and San Angelo Police Department. This notice was also released by Concho Valley Crime Stoppers itself.

According to SAPD Sgt. Travis Griffith, the rewards will be given to any individuals who can provide information that leads to the individual's arrest. The amount of money given will vary depending on factors such as the amount of information given and its relevance to the search, with rewards reaching up to $1,000.

The Lake Gardens Bandit first entered the public eye on May 10, when the Grape Creek VFD used social media to ask for the community's help in identifying a man shown in several images taken from cameras on the burglarized property. According to the fire department, the individual broke into its building, located at 8325 United States Highway 87 North, on May 9 at approximately 11:27 p.m.

Once inside, the man began to steal copper materials from the building's interior and exterior electrical components. Upon realizing that a hunting camera mounted inside the building had photographed him, the thief stole the camera and fled the scene.

If you have information that could identify or lead to the arrest of the Lake Gardens Bandit, call the Concho Valley Crime Stoppers at (325)-658-4357 or the Tom Green County Sheriff's Office at (325)-655-8111. The fire department and Concho Valley Crime Stoppers ask the public not to attempt to apprehend the suspect themselves.
