SAN ANGELO, Texas (Concho Valley Homepage) — The Coleman Police Department has arrested two suspects in connection with a series of burglaries that targeted storage units in the city.
According to a social media post shared by Coleman PD, arrest warrants were issued for Shon Smith, 59, and Charity Hord, 48, both from Wingate, Texas on Aug. 13. Smith and Hord were apprehended by the Runnels County Sheriff's Office and are currently being held at Runnels County Jail.
Smith faces four counts of burglary of a building and one count of attempted burglary of a coin-operated machine. He is being held on $32,000 bond for the Coleman County charges and faces additional bonds for related offenses in Runnels County.
Hord is charged with three counts of burglary of a building and one count of attempted burglary of a coin-operated machine. Her Bond for the Coleman County offenses is set at $24,500.
Authorities have recovered several items from the storage units that have been identified by victims. They have also found additional items believed to be stolen from the units where thefts were not reported.
The police department urges anyone who suspects their storage unit may have been burglarized but has not yet reported it to contact (325)-625-4114 as soon as possible. Coleman PD emphasized that a significant chance that recorded stolen property belongs to unreported victims.
