Description

SAN ANGELO, Texas (Concho Valley Homepage) — Robert Lee was abuzz Monday night when bee professionals set to work rehoming over 10,000 bees that were swarming in the town.

The City of Robert Lee stated on May 13 that it had received reports of active bees in the area of Austin Street and 4th Street, with an evaluation estimating that more than 10,000 bees were present.

The City asked residents living within a 2-block radius of the infested area to shelter in place and relocate livestock while it prepared to deal with the swarm at sundown.

The night came and went, and the City reported at 9:53 a.m. the following day that the bees had been successfully removed. The area was deemed clear by the Bee Solutions removal service.

A graph provided by the City of Robert Lee indicates the approximate area of where the bee hive is located. The area has since been cleared of bees.
